CFSEU, RCMP · Dispatch and monitoring · 2023 to 2024

Helping dispatch see who's right for a call, not just who's closest.

How time with dispatchers and duty officers shaped a map that brings live calls and member skills onto one screen.

Command and Control

In short

Dispatch could mainly see who was closest to a call, while member skills lived in other systems. After two years of opening up data access, and time observing dispatchers and duty officers at work, I designed a map with three levels of zoom that puts live calls and member details side by side. It rolled out to a beta cohort and a monitoring unit through 2023 and 2024.
