As the visual designer for the BC RCMP Hub, I’ve had the opportunity to lead a range of branding, communications, and design projects that have strengthened the unit’s identity and visual consistency. Here’s an overview of the work I’ve done so far.
Design Process and Deliverables
Logo Guidelines and Graphical Standards
When I joined the team, the original BC RCMP Hub logo was inconsistently used across platforms and materials. My first step was to establish a graphical standards manual that included guidelines for the logo, color palette, fonts, and overall style. We initially experimented with several logo variations, but ultimately decided to retain the original logo due to its brand equity. I refined the linework and created color, black-and-white, and greyscale versions, providing them in SVG, PNG, and JPG formats to ensure flexibility across mediums.

Templates for Consistent Branding
To further align our communications, I developed a PowerPoint slide deck template based on the graphical standards manual, complete with approved fonts, colors, and imagery. I also created custom Word report templates with consistent headers, footers, and layouts, ensuring that all internal documents followed the same professional and branded appearance.

Challenge Coin and Merchandise Design
For the upcoming 2024 Data Summit, I designed a challenge coin to commemorate the event, which has become a centerpiece of our branded merchandise. In addition, I incorporated the updated logo into Yeti merchandise and other swag items, creating a cohesive set of giveaways to thank attendees for participating in the summit.

SharePoint Development and Expansion
I designed and developed the original BC RCMP Hub internal SharePoint site, which became the foundation for the Hub’s internal communications. After the success of the 2023 Data Summit, we adopted a Bootstrap theme for a more modern look. This included a layout revamp for new initiatives like the DataSight portal and the 2024 Data Summit page, further expanding the site’s functionality.
Impact and Recognition
The branding work has helped solidify the BC RCMP Hub’s identity, ensuring consistency across internal communications, presentations, and events. The 2023 Data Summit set a new standard for how we present our unit, with strong visual cohesion and professional materials that have been well-received.
There have been many exciting design opportunities, and I’m looking forward to the next phase of branding and communication projects. While some of the work is internal and cannot be shared publicly, I’m proud to showcase iterations of the logo, GSM basics, Power Point Template and challenge coin designs.
